Terms of Service
The short version.
- Spectra is an information tool. It's not financial advice, and a Safe rating is not a promise.
- Every trade you make is your own decision, and your own risk.
- The core shield is free. Premium is a monthly subscription you can cancel any time.
- Be decent in the community: no shilling, scams or harassment.
1. About these terms
These terms cover your use of spectra.gripe, the Guard by Spectra browser extension, the Spectra desktop app and Spectra Premium (together, "Spectra"). Spectra is run by Tinoosh Simpkins in the United Kingdom ("we", "us"). By making an account or using Spectra, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. Questions: hello@spectra.gripe.
2. Not financial advice
Spectra reads public on-chain and market data, such as contract permissions, holder concentration, liquidity, taxes and fees, and summarises it as a score and a grade (Safe, Speculative or Risky). It also estimates costs, break-even prices and profit or loss.
- This is general information, not a personal recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything. We are not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority to give investment advice, and we don't.
- Ratings and estimates can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Data comes from third parties we don't control. Tokens can change after a scan, new scam techniques appear, and price impact and fees in the calculator are estimates.
- A Safe grade means we didn't find the red flags we check for. It doesn't mean a token is safe to buy, will keep its value or won't be rugged.
- Crypto assets are high risk and largely unregulated in the UK. You could lose all the money you put in. Only trade what you can afford to lose, and do your own research.
3. Your account
- You must be 18 or over and give a real email address.
- Keep your password private. You're responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
- Spectra never asks for your seed phrase, private keys or wallet access. Anyone who does is not us.
- One person, one account. Don't create accounts to get around a suspension or the leaderboard rules.
4. The community and leaderboard
When you post, keep it honest and legal. You must not:
- promote, shill or pump tokens, run paid promotions without saying so, or coordinate buying or selling;
- post scams, phishing links, fake giveaways or anything asking for keys or seed phrases;
- impersonate anyone, including Spectra staff;
- harass people, post hate, or share other people's personal information;
- manipulate the leaderboard or misuse the service, for example by scraping, overloading or probing it for weaknesses without permission.
You keep ownership of what you post, and you give us permission to show it in Spectra. We can remove posts, and suspend or close accounts, that break these rules. Leaderboard rankings are for fun and comparison; they're not a measure of anyone's financial ability or a recommendation to copy their trades.
5. Premium
- Price and renewal. Premium is billed monthly at the price shown at checkout, including any VAT. It renews automatically each month until you cancel.
- Payment. Stripe takes the payment. If a payment fails, Premium may stop until it's paid.
- Cancelling. Cancel any time from Settings, through the Stripe billing portal. You keep Premium until the end of the month you've paid for, and you won't be charged again.
- Your right to cancel. UK law gives you 14 days to cancel a new digital subscription. At checkout you ask us to start Premium straight away. If you cancel within 14 days of first subscribing, email us and we'll refund that first payment in full. We think that's fairer than the legal minimum.
- Refunds after that. We don't refund part-months, except where the law says we must or we've failed to provide the service.
- Price changes. We'll tell you at least 30 days before a price change takes effect, so you can cancel first.
Safety warnings are never locked behind Premium. The full shield stays free.
6. The extension and desktop app
We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the Guard extension and the desktop app. Please don't copy, resell or reverse-engineer them, or remove our name or marks, except where the law allows. Third-party trading sites, wallets and data providers are not ours. We're not responsible for them, and using them is between you and them.
7. Availability and changes
We work to keep Spectra running and accurate, but it's provided as it is, and it may sometimes be unavailable, slow or wrong. We may change, add or remove features. If we remove something you're paying for, we'll give you notice and a fair refund.
8. Our responsibility to you
We're responsible for loss you suffer that's a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. We're not responsible for:
- trading losses or missed gains, including losses on tokens Spectra rated Safe or Speculative;
- losses caused by third-party sites, wallets, tokens, smart contracts or data providers;
- losses that weren't foreseeable, or that come from a business use of Spectra.
Apart from that, our total responsibility to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the problem, or £50 if you're on the free plan. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit, and nothing affects your legal rights as a consumer.
9. Ending your account
You can stop using Spectra and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms. If you're on Premium and we close your account without good reason, we'll refund the unused part of your current month.
10. Changes to these terms
If we make important changes, we'll tell signed-in users at least 30 days before they take effect. If you don't agree with the new terms, you can close your account before then.
11. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If there's a problem, please email us first. Most things can be sorted quickly. If not, you can take a claim to the courts of England and Wales, or to the courts where you live if that's Scotland or Northern Ireland.
